ECO2 Laser Q&A
Q1: Will I experience pain during the treatment process?
There may be mild pain or discomfort in the treatment process. However, pain and discomfort can be reduced if topical anesthetic ointment was applied to the treatment area prior to the treatment process.
Q2: Will ECO2 laser treat my enlarged pores?
There are 3 major subtypes of large pores: oil type, aging type, and pseudo type, which can all be treated with micro spot laser. After 2 courses of subtle micro spot (SMS) treatment, you can immediately feel an obvious effect. Energy is delivered down to the dermal layer (2.5mm) to generate a thermal effect, activate skin recovery mechanism, stimulate collagen formulation, and help filling up skin pores.
Q3: What are the side effects?
After receiving this treatment, you may experience some reddening and swelling of skin around your treatment area. Go home and take a rest. Next morning, apply some light cosmetic to your skin so that the condition will be barely perceivable.
Q4: Can I receive a consultation service before getting a laser treatment or aesthetic treatment?
Depending on the reservation list of the day, you can get a laser treatment, aesthetic treatment, and micro plastic surgery right after consultation. If there is a vacant seat, we will immediately arrange a treatment for you on that day. However, if all seats are occupied by other patients, we will have to arrange a treatment for you on another day. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
Q5 : What are the skin reaction to Fraxel laser treatment?
After treatment, you may experience reddening and swelling of skin around the treatment area, which will naturally fade away in a couple of days. You can wash your face and put on some light makeups. You can also apply icepack to the treatment area if it goes red again. Please do not peel off the brown scab and must wait for it to fall off naturally.
Q6 : What are the postoperative care?
After treatment, some pimples may appear on your face. Since it is a perfectly normal reaction, make sure not to squeeze them to prevent pigmentation or permanent scars.
Q7 : After treatment, what kind of skincare products should I choose and prevent?
Within one week after treatment, make sure to apply dedicated restorative skincare products as prescribed by our doctor. Avoid activities that might result in skin inflammation and skin irritation such as do a facial, put on facial mask, receive exfoliating treatment, and apply irritating skincare product (including alpha hydroxy acids, alcohol and whitening skincare products).
Q８: After treatment, can I go aboard?
Of course you can. Make sure to apply adequate moisture to your skin depending on the weather and climate conditions of different countries.
Q９: After treatment, can I expose my skin to sunlight?
After treatment, make sure not to expose your skin to sunlight. Please apply sunscreen before going outdoors and use a sun umbrella and sun hat to avoid sunlight.
Q10 : After treatment, can I put on my makeup, remove my makeup or wash my face?
After treatment, you may put on your makeup, remove your makeup, wash your face and take a shower. However, make sure not to wash your body with hot water or engage in activities such as hot spring, steam bath, hot tub, and sauna.
Q11 : After treatment, is it normal to feel dry in my skin?
After treatment, you may experience dry skin or brown scabs, which is a perfectly normal reaction. Make sure to apply the dedicated moisture product as prescribed by our doctor.
Q12 : How many laser sessions should I receive? What is the treatment effect?
Since laser is a progressive treatment, you can feel an immediate treatment result right after the first treatment session. In general, a total of 3 to 5 treatment sessions would be needed. Number of treatment may differ depending on the individual’s physical and facial conditions, as well as one’s expectation.
Q13 : What are the treatment details?
Our clinic provides aesthetic treatments and micro plastic surgeries. For further details, please refer to “Treatment Details”.
Q14 : Is there an age limitation for injection treatments?
Patients under 20 years old must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian to receive the laser treatments, aesthetic treatments or micro plastic surgeries. The accompanying parent or legal guardian should also sign the agreement form.
Q15 : After chemical peel, will my skin get thinner?
No. Chemical peel works to reduce stratum corneum and stimulate collagen formulation in the dermal layer. Hence, your skin will get fuller and healthier instead of getting thinner.
Q16 : Why do some pimples and acnes keep on showing up after the chemical peeling?
Since alpha hydroxy acids would generate an exfoliating effect that work to smoothen your pores, great amount of pimples and acnes may show up all at once. Since it is a perfectly normal reaction and a temporary process, just wait for your skin to recover gradually every restore to normality.
Q17 : After chemical peel, is skin exposure to sunlight completely prohibited?
Not quite. Since chemical peel is mainly designed for skin whitening and anti-aging, a whitened skin resulting from the chemical peel is especially vulnerable to sunlight, and that’s the reason why you need protection from sunlight. Note that alpha hydroxy acid is not in itself light sensitive, and protection from sunlight is generally required to avoid poor treatment effect.
Q１8 : Should I receive the laser treatment in a specific season? Should I prevent sunlight both indoors and outdoors?
You can receive a laser treatment all year round. Immediately after treatment, your skin may be sensitive and you may need to prevent your skin from ultraviolet light that exists both indoors and outdoors. Ultraviolet light can be generally divided into three subtypes - type A, type B, and type C, depending on their wavelengths, penetrations, and threats to human skin. With a wavelength of 320nm~400nm, type A ultraviolet light is often dubbed as a hidden killer. With great penetration power, type A ultraviolet is able to penetrate through thick cloud and thick glass which could ultimately result in skin aging all year round. Since it never causes immediate skin damage such as sunburn, people often overlook the damage it could bring. With a wavelength of 290nm~320nm, type B ultraviolet light is often shielded by thick cloud and could only prevail as the sunlight grows stronger. Also known as the ultraviolet light to most people, type B ultraviolet light could result in immediate sunburn after short-term skin exposure and skin cancer or skin aging after long-term skin exposure. With a wavelength of 200nm~290nm, type C ultraviolet has the shortest wavelength among the three types, which not only affects skin appearance but also causes the greatest harm.
Q19：What causes enlarge pores?
Unbalance fat secretion, improper cleaning method, thick stratum corneum, and endocrine disorder can all lead to enlarge pores. Once blackheads are formulated, pigmentation of skin around the affected area would become even more severe which would ultimately result in dark skin and uneven color patches. Chemical peel, laser treatment and Fraxel laser are some of the ideal methods that are aimed at treating enlarge pores.
Q20 : What are some of the reasons that cause uneven skin tones?
Excessive sun exposure, anoxic cell, poor blood circulation, poor body metabolism, and pimple squeezing can all lead to uneven skin tones. Aside from poor blood circulation, excessive sun exposure could also lead to red patches on skin. In addition, pimples could also make skin looks gray, brown, or dark red in color.
